because when you are sick you just need your mom
Last week my mom came home from her job hours early to work at my job. You see I work at the family business and when the boss(dad) is away, it's just me to run it. Mom saved the day without me even having to ask her...although it may have had something to do with the pathetic phone call the night before in which I said I didn't want to work at all the next day. Still she left her job to come do mine (and made me go to the doctor). I don't often let illness get in the way of a job needing to be done, but this cold was a doosie.
Some of my recent favorite times with with my mom include our little chats when she comes to steal our coffee on her way to work. She loves her job, as a hair stylist, and has taught me to love what I do. In the last year it has been so fun to watch her live out a dream she has had for many years. My mom became a grandma 10 months ago, to my niece Bailey(she's a big deal in our family). Mom just has this glow about her when that baby is around, or when she has a story to tell about her. I love how much she loves all of us and wants to tell everyone the latest stories about our lives, but especially her adventures as a grandma.
For these things I love her, among many other reasons too numerous to count.
